Nearly 550 people attended the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) Aviation and Construction Job Fair, held today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the University of Illinois – Chicago (UIC) Forum near downtown Chicago.
CDA Aviation and Construction Job Fair at the UIC Forum
The free event provided an excellent opportunity for job seekers to meet with contacts from nearly 50 companies seeking to fill more than 200 positions at O’Hare and Midway International Airports.
“Chicago’s airports are the economic engines for our region and are major centers for employment across a variety of job sectors,” said CDA Commissioner Rosemarie S. Andolino. “On behalf of Mayor Rahm Emanuel, I want to thank all of the companies who participated at today’s successful aviation job fair. We hope the event will translate into many promising new opportunities for job seekers in Chicago.”
Besides the CDA, some of the participating companies included Southwest Airlines; the Transportation Security Administration (TSA); MAC One (concessions); Walsh Construction; Chicago Airport Resources Enterprise (CARE) Plus; Avis; Garrett’s Popcorn;Seaway Bank; the Hilton Hotel and McDonald’s.
