Chicago bound Lufthansa flight makes emergency landing at Frankfurt Airport

Lufthansa launched its first Sochi Olympic flight from the Frankfurt AirportA Lufthansa Airline flight, scheduled from Frankfurt in Germany to Chicago in the US, had to make an emergency landing on Sunday 21st August, due to a medical emergency onboard.



The Boeing 747 initially took off from Frankfurt in Germany but it had to return back as one of the passengers of the flight needed medical aid.



The flight LH430 was bound to reach Chicago O’Hare International. When the jet was flying near the city of Duesseldorf, the unfortunate incident occurred. The flight crew informed the captain about the incident as soon as possible. The captain of the flight immediately declared emergency and turned the flight back towards Frankfurt Airport.



The authorities of Lufthansa issued a formal statement in twitter about the flight. It stated, “It had to return due to a medical emergency of one of the passengers on-board.”



The flight had to circle the airport several times to dump the fuel before making an emergency landing. Later, the flight managed to make a safe landing.
