Marriott International, Inc. announced today plans to open the first Courtyard by Marriott brand hotel in the capital city of Chihuahua, Mexico, the twelfth largest city in the country and home to large brand name manufacturing facilities such as Ford Motor Co., Sumitomo Electrical, Honeywell, Hallmark, and LG Electronics. The hotel project was signed with a group of local, prominent investors from Chihuahua with over 36 years of experience and a portfolio that includes over 7 local hotels.
The 138-room Courtyard by Marriott hotel, scheduled to open in April 2015, will be located inside of the highly anticipated Citadela Life Style Center – Distrito Uno complex, a 65,000 SM mixed-use development that includes prime office space, residences, a casino, shops and over 20 restaurants.
“The Courtyard by Marriott brand was a perfect fit for this hotel and, combined with Marriott’s backbone and sales engine, we are confident that the hotel will be highly successful and play a large role in the continued emergence of city of Chihuahua,” said Don. The hotel will feature the brand’s refreshing business lobby, lobby bar, a casual dining restaurant, flexible meeting space and recreational facilities including a swimming pool and sauna. Additionally, it will include the brand’s new modern guestroom design.
