Child-friendly Wi-Fi scheme signed by London Stansted

London Stansted is now  accredited as one of the UK airports offering safe and child –Friendly Wi-Fi to passengers.

 

 

The certification comes on the back of Standsted’s parent company, MAG which has signed up to the government-initiated scheme.

Passengers at Stansted can be reassured that the airport’s free Wi-Fi network will filter out inappropriate content which makes it safer for the kids

The passenger mix at Stansted reflects a much younger demographic where 48 per cent are aged between 16-34 years old.Many young families with children travelling through the airport will get extra protect.

In 2014 the government has initiated syandard for public Wi-Fi so that it meets filtering standards especially in areas where kids were present.

 

There are Wi-Fi filters in venues displaying the Friendly Wi-Fi symbol have deny access to inappropriate content, including indecent images and advertisements or links to such content.

Aboudy Nasser, commercial director at London Stansted Airport said that and more of the 28 million passengers we welcomed to their airport every year and  choose to connect to the free Wi-Fi offered, whether that’s to download a last-minute film for their flight, catch up on emails or say bon voyage to friends and family before they fly.
