This year, a total of 550 billion yuan or more than $80 billion will be utilized into the industry, as per to a recently released action plan on Tuesday by the National Development and Reform Commission and different government agencies.
It emphasized a considerable increase from less than 390 billion yuan in 2016.
With the assistance of enormous investment, rural infrastructure and tourist services will be developed and taken care of followed by better toilet facilities, sewage treatment, effective garbage disposal, comfortable parking areas and visitor centers.
Private capital contribution has been stressed in the document, and financing models like public-private-partnership will be promoted.
More and more villages will be promoted to oblige with various online travel services providers, and economic support will be fortified for small and medium-scale travel agencies.
In 2017, 2.5 billion countryside trips and 1.4 trillion yuan of rural tourism consumption have been highlighted in the document, profiting approximately 9 million rural households. Previously, rural tourism has witnessed strong growth in China as more and more city-dwellers fall in love with country life eventually. Keeping this in mind, government has been implementing constructive measures to speed up the development process.
