China is keen to expand tourism in various rural sections of the country to help raise greater number of people out of poverty as the government is all prepared and have identified poverty eradication as one of the major tasks in the developing of a moderately prosperous society by the year 2020.
China targets to lift 12 million people out of poverty via tourism from the year 2016 to 2020, as per the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA) reports.
In Guizhou Province, situated in southwest China, the authorities have recognized thousands of tourism resources and aided over 14 impoverished counties to develop tourism facilities.
