China, hit by smogThe temperature in some areas of China will surge by 12 degrees Celsius in the next few days, China’s Xinhua news agency reported, citing the China Meteorological Administration (CMA).

The CMA said north China will also be hit by smog over the next three days. It will be particularly heavy in parts of Beijing, and the provinces of Hebei and Shandong.
Fog will also reduce visibility to less than 500 metres in some parts of northeast China and south China, according to the forecast.

Daytime temperatures in parts of north China are forecast to shoot up to 20 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, while areas along the Yangtze River Delta are expected to see temperatures rebound to 20-25 degrees Celsius.

The CMA urged people to take precautions to protect themselves during the smoggy period.
