Authorities of the theme park ‘Romandisea’ in China has started to construct a 269-metre long replica of the world famous sunken ship ‘Titanic’. After completion, the ship will be introduced to the world as a theme park to the visitors.
On Wednesday, 30th November, the theme park authorities have officially started to construct the gigantic vessel during an event in the Sichuan province of China. The ‘solemn ceremony’ has been attended by the former cabinet minister of UK, Peter Mandelson and the financial backers of the project. The original ship ‘Titanic’ was built by a shipping company in UK, which sank and killed around 1500 voyagers in 1912.
In the Chinese province of Sichuan, the brand new life-size replica of Titanic will act as a centrepiece of a tourist resort.
After completion, the vessel will offer a ‘Fairyland’ theme park and a Venetian style chapel to the visitors. The vessel will also include dining facility, hotel rooms exactly like Titanic Staterooms and a grand ball room. Apart from these services, the brand new Titanic will provide a WI-FI service to the visitors as well.
The official website of the park says that they are not only showing off digital high-technology but they are showing the progress and culture of human civilisation as well. According to the developers, the recreation of Titanic will cost almost $200 million CDN.
According to the CEO of the parent company of the resort, Su Shaojun, they will let people experience water coming in using sound and LED light effects, which will make them think that the water will drown them and they must escape for their life.
The replica of the sunken ship Titanic will not move and it will remain landlocked in an artificial reservoir on the Qi River.
