Chinese and European buyers show strong representation at IBTM Arabia

IBTM Arabia is witnessing strong representation from Chinese and European buyers for the upcoming 2019 event that will be held at the Jumeirah Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi from 25-27 March.

This year the proportion  of Chinese buyers has increased to almost 15% and has high profile buyers like Novo Nordisk Pharmaceutical China, HelmsBriscoe Asia, Thyssenkrupp Elevators Asia and Didi Chuxing. While other hosted buyers include China International Medicine Exchange Association International Service Center and World Travel Service Sichuan.

Almost 70% of the buyers will be from Europe and it will include Framatome (France), Honeywell (UK) and Adevma Communication Ltd. (Germany).

There will be representation from the Azerbaijan branches of BP, Baker McKenzie and OEG Offshore.

The event team also reported of a strong surge in its incentive travel this year and there will be adrenaline-fuelled activities in the region like the Formula 1 experience, cultural tours etc.

Sevinge Dadashova from Baker McKenzie is attending as a Hosted Buyer this year said that IBTM Arabia is a chance to discover different types of event hosting and formats, as well as meeting suppliers face-to-face to check detailed information and  feel “how events happen” in the Middle East.

Danielle Curtis, Exhibition Director for Reed Travel Exhibitions Middle East was pleased with the increased level of interest from Chinese and European Hosted Buyers to attend the event this year.

He said that the Middle East remains an incredibly dynamic market, and one where the MICE market is firmly in the ascendant. Through governmental support in Abu Dhabi the country has establish itself as a leading business events destination, and this is a trend being repeated across the Middle East.
