The meeting was attended by CEO Larry Ng, who presented the company's plans to expand its business into strategic destinations such as Japan and China recently.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment is one of the hotel giants in the world. The meeting even took place at the conglomerate's latest venture: the Morpheus Hotel, the latest project designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid. She was the first woman to receive the Pritzker, a kind of Oscar for architecture.
The venture alone generates about 7,000 jobs and revenues of $ 5 billion, focused on the local workforce and economy. One of the main highlights of Macau, the impressive five-year project, costing US $ 1.1 billion, shows the strength of the group that wants to invest in Brazil. Entrepreneurs are mainly interested in the resort area and promise a bold, innovative and Brazilian-looking project.
“Melco, come to Brazil. We are ready to receive them. I am sure the partnership will be very prosperous. The group will have the security they need to invest in our destinations. I'm sure many will come,” said Álvaro Antônio.
The group's investors, at the invitation of the minister, will make a technical visit later this year to Brazil to know tourist destinations for the implementation of future investments in the country.
The cities of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, and the Northeast and North are some of the locations in the group's plans. According to Melco Resorts director Larry Ng, the conglomerate is open to working in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism on other
strategic plans for both countries, and has the expertise of Brazil.
