Chinese OTA Ctrip acquires U.S. start up

ctripCtrip that is a Chinese OTA has acquired a U.S. startup that is a travel planning app and website.


The price of this acquisition is yet to be disclosed.


The website has mentioned that the metasearch site Skyscanner that is also owned by Ctrip would be launching personalized travel recommendations powered by the reviews and recommendations of has said that the community, technology and content behind this website would be permitting the company to launch an inspirational and in-depth content to travellers including hyper-relevant as well as personalized recommendations.


And this website would be maintaining its staff of 30 co-founders, Ori Zaltzman and Travis Katz and the existent office locations.


Katz said in a statement that Skyscanner shares their focus on mobile and also their passion to strengthen people to enjoy stunning travel experiences.


Katz added that they are quite excited to work with Skyscanner to offer a single resource to travellers around the world that meets all the travel requirements successfully.
