A resort in Northern China has chosen a unique way to recycle old buses, by altering them into miniature hotels. More than 30 old buses got makeovers in the process, which are already proving to be effective to pull tourists towards the Tai Tai Moutain Park at Taiyuan, situated in the Shanxi Province.
Each bus has got individual cartoon themes like Doraemon, Hello Kitty and Mickey Mouse. The mini hotels will give away a cosy and comfortable vibe.
The resort is providing the tourists with a private kitchen, bathroom, and a vibrant decoration. The exterior is decorated with cartoon murals; and the interior has bright bed sheets, stuffed animals and novelty dish-wares. The resort spent $9000 on each bus to give it a magical touch.
Guilin Han, the president of the Tai Tai Mountain Park explained about their move, “These abandoned buses are cheap to buy and it’s great reuse of waste.”
The resort inaugurated the bus-hotels on May, and individual bus-hotel charges $43 a night. The park is hoping to convert around 200 buses by the first week of July. Not even buses; but trucks, tractors and abandoned planes are also getting makeovers by the park authority.
Chongfeng Yue, vice President of Tai Tai Mountain Park said, “It will be really meaningful to look back at these outdated vehicles in the future.” He aims to build a museum for recreational vehicles in the future.
The bus-hotels of Tai Tai Mountain Park will be the perfect getaway for families with kids. But it would be best if they opt for advance booking.
