Chinese travelers are now slowly returning to Paris, in spite of November 2015 attack, taking the visitors number back to the pre-attack days. All the tourism businesses, luxury retailers, and museum management are happy with this change and return of Chinese visitors to Paris as they had become heavily dependent on them ever since global Chinese tourism started this upward trend.
Just after the terror attacks in the country in 2015, France found quite difficult to attract Chinese tourists to some of its many popular destinations in spite of being one of the leading overseas destinations for Chinese tourists.
To quote Ctrip, the Chinese online travel market, ‘since the terrorist attack [in Paris 2015], many tourists have looked to Eastern European [destinations] such as Hungary and the Czech Republic or Northern European countries such as Finland and Sweden.’
Chinese tourists are the highest number of visitors in France who are feeling most threatened and concerned about their security issues. Besides, Germany in Western Europe is yet another country where number of Chinese tourists has gone down in recent times. On the other hand, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Spain to enjoy real European experiences with a lower threat of terrorism have become quite popular destinations among Chinese tourists of late.
