Choice Hotels International, one of the world’s largest hotel companies, announced today a new relationship with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. To kick off the partnership, Choice Hotels volunteers, including several members of senior leadership, will renovate the Germantown Branch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington on Monday, May 23rd.
“Choice Hotels places great value in the building of relationships, whether it’s through travel or a local community organization, and Boys & Girls Clubs are an excellent champion of nurturing those relationships,” said Steve Joyce, president and CEO, Choice Hotels. “As a Boys & Girls Club alum, this is an organization near and dear to my heart. I can testify to the positive impact it has had on my life, and I’m looking forward to our company playing a role in helping to build the future of Boys & Girls Clubs.”
The volunteer event will kick off at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 23, with remarks from Choice Hotels’ President and CEO, and former Boys & Girls Club member, Steve Joyce. Following his remarks, approximately 75 Choice Hotels volunteers from its Rockville, Maryland corporate headquarters, along with members from the local Boys & Girls Club, will participate in renovation activities including landscaping, installing new furniture and painting.
The Germantown branch serves an average of 115 kids and teens ages 5-18 daily, teaching important life lessons including healthy lifestyles, academic success, good character and career development. With more than 4,100 Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, Choice and its franchisees are setting forth to help enrich the lives of children who need it the most.
