Claude Blanc appointed as the new portfolio director of World Travel Market

Claude Blanc  has been appointed by Reed Travel Exhibition as thenew portfolio director for the World Travel Market brand.

He has more than 25 years of experience within the travel trade and hospitality industry and will be taking over the  overall responsibility for all events in the portfolio.

This will include World Travel Market London, Travel Forward, Arabian Travel Market, World Travel Market Latin America and World Travel Market Africa.

He earlier served as chief executive at Paris-based Travel & Co, a tour operating group which he founded in 2007.

He was also the digital travel director for TUI group and worked with Rosenbluth International and timeshare exchange company RCI.

Blanc was delighted to join such a respected, well known global brand, and to work with a team of seasoned travel industry professionals.

He said that it was an exciting time to come on board, it is expected that the WTM Portfolio will be smashing last year’s achievement of $7 billion worldwide industry deals.

In the new role he will be reporting to Nick Pilbeam, the divisional director, Reed Travel Exhibitions who was very pleased with the new appointment.

Pilbeam said that he was equally comfortable working as a part of a team or leading from the front. Claude  has in-depth knowledge of the industry and understands the geographical reach the company’s portfolio covers.
