Nikki Jones, information assistant for the Broads Authority, which runs Whitlingham Country Park on the outskirts of Norwich, said: “It has been an incredibly busy weekend and Monday. Lots of people have been here enjoying a picnic and the cafe has been busy.
“There have been a lot of people walking around the broad and lots of people on boats and canoes.
“We have had everyone here. It has been great.”
Other authorities also reported impressive tourism figures and they also think its because of the good weather.
Wroxham-based Broads Tours, described the weekend as “crazy” in terms of the high numbers of people hiring out boats from the company.
One of the most popular tourist attractions was The River Bure in Coltishall which attracted many fishing enthusiasts, walkers and villagers.
Some 15,000 dog owners also flocked to the Norfolk Showground, on the edge of Norwich, on Sunday and Monday for the All About Dogs event.
