From April 6 to 7, CNTA organized a mainland delegation to participate in the “Beautiful China — 2016 Mainland Tour (Hong Kong, Macau) Carnival” in Macau. The delegation included delegates from tourism commissions (bureaus) from 24 provinces (autonomous regions) including Jiangsu, Guangdong, Guangxi and Guizhou and 121 tour operators from the mainland.
On the evening of April 6, the Macau Tower staged the first Maritime Silk Road & Travel on High-Speed Train road show event. The event attracted over 200 participants, including Liu Kezhi, the delegation head and the head of CNTA Department of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Affairs, Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of Macau Government Tourist Office, Zhu Hong, deputy head of the Economic Affairs Department of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Macau, heads of local tourism associations as well tour operators and journalists from both the mainland and Macau.
Under the guidance of CNTA, tourism departments from six mainland provinces including Guangdong, Fujian and Hainan introduced their latest boutique travel route, “Travel to the Maritime Silk Road on High-Speed Train”. Complete information display, original presentational forms, exquisite graphic design and brand-new product design combined to illustrate how the high-speed train could serve the Maritime Silk Road tourism and display the abundant, unique travel resources along the Maritime Silk Road and the fast, convenient and safe travel experience brought by the high-speed train, offering more choices for tourists from Macau to visit the mainland.
On April 7, at the public promotional activity held at the Iao Hon Market Complex, tourism departments from 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) from the mainland recommended their tourism resources to and answered questions from local residents, demonstrated colourful mainland tourism resources and products via presentations on boutique travel routes, travel information service, quiz game on tourism related knowledge, recommendation of specific tourism products, business consultation, and wonderful ethnic shows. The activity attracted a large crowd of audience and created a warm and lively atmosphere. In an interview with local media, Deputy Director Zhou Ping of Hainan Provincial Tourism Commission said: “The carnival has become a very good brand and serves as a good platform for Macau people to learn more about the latest tourism products and business forms in the mainland. This time we successfully promote our tourism products along Hainan Western Ring High-Speed Railway, which means a lot for promoting tourism in the whole region.”
