Cocke County, a political sub division in the US state of Tennessee, consisting of the plains, mountains, rivers and the protected areas for the wildlife, is going to be named as the Adventure Tourism District, which will generate the economy of this region in fostering the tourism.
Tennessee Commissioner of Tourism Kevin Triplett after paying a visit to Cocke County to announce Cocke County’s designation as an Adventure Tourism District, the gates are now open to boost the tourism investment and taking the natural resources for the well being to attracts more tourists and the creating the new jobs.
Joining Triplett for the announcement were Dave Jones, East Tennessee Division Manager with the Tennessee Department of Tourism, Cocke County Director of Tourism Linda Lewanski, Cocke County Mayor Crystal Ottinger, and Cocke County Partnership President Lucas Graham.
The Adventure Tourism District in Cocke County will allow the qualified business to earn the tax credit and make this area favourable for tourism.
The businesses may include the establishment of restaurants, hotels or other tourism-related attractions. With a capital investment of $500,000, the business must create a minimum of 10 jobs and the business must complete a jobs tax credit business plan that is submitted to the Tennessee Department of Revenue.
The Cocke County Partnership’s Tourism Department has applied for the designation on behalf of Cocke County.
Cocke County has a vast variety of natural resources which generate economy. The rivers, mountains, and hiking trails will promote the tourism. And this can be found after the generous business support from Mayor Ottinger and the CLB. Ottinger also thanked Lewanski and the Partnership for pulling this effort together by giving the application for the proposal of the Adventure Tourism District.
Lewanski also stated that he was thrilled to hear the approval of the designation of the Adventure Tourism District and thanked for the support to make the business in partnership.
