The appointment of Colin Stewart as chairman is now in effect. It was unanimously voted for by the LATA committee and will see him continue to drive the organisation forward in its assignment to grow travel to and around Latin America.
Colin Stewart is a known name in airline industry who in his role as Air Europa’s director, United Kingdom & Ireland, has overseen significant development of the route network between the UK and Latin America and successfully achieving in year-on-year double digit growth since effectively launching the airline in the United Kingdom in 2009.
Colin Stewart is an active member of Latin American Travel Association for eight years. It joins with LATA during at a time of exceptional growth.
Today Latin American Travel Association brings together record 327 members from the United Kingdom and overseas including tourism boards, destination management companies, tour operators, airlines and hotel groups.
Latin American Travel Association was founded 25 years ago. LATA has grown in strength and influence and today it is the largest organisation of its kind worldwide.
Colin Stewart replaces former chairman Byron Shirto who resigned from his services last month.
