Last Monday, this company had shut down its office. Consequently, five customers have complained to the authorities about the inconvenience they have confronted with. They said that though they had paid over $15,000 to the travel agents for travel bookings, the agents had not paid for their flights as yet.
Tourists have been making attempts to contact the Department for Consumer Protection with an aim to complain against the travel agents. They are looking forward to tell the authorities that they have been financially cheated and their travel plans have been ruined.
One of the news agencies has reported that it is aware of a couple who was stranded abroad because this travel agency failed to make arrangements for their return flight.
Thereafter, the Department for Consumer Affairs mentioned that the agency was experiencing some grave financial crisis.
David Hillyard, Consumer Protection Commissioner asked travellers who were booking through Global Plus Holidays to confirm whether all their travel arrangements were paid for by the company.
Apart from that, he also asked people who book travel insurance from Global Plus Holidays to make sure whether the policy they are booking is valid.
