The Colorado ski resort, Vail Mountain has introduced a series of attractions named as ‘Epic Discovery’ on 28th June. Tourists will be able to take Eagle Bahn gondola ride, followed by a canopy tour along with seven crisscrossed zip lines around the ski bowl of Game Creek. Daredevils will also be able to ride the brand new 10,350 ft high alpine roller coaster. The Vail resorts authority has also introduced two short hiking trails for summer.
On June 2016 the Heavenly Mountain Resort, owned by the Vail authority, has introduced similar attractions including canopy tours, aerial bridges, alpine coaster and interpretative learning trails.
The senior director of summer operations for Vail resorts, Hans Vollrath has stated that these structures take the national park plaque to a new level.
Another Vail Resorts property has plans to include some more elements at their Breckenridge Ski Resort in Colorado next year. The resort will get a new canopy tour and interpretive trails.
The summer special investments are the result of the Ski Area Recreational Opportunity Enhancement Act that has been passed in 2011 by the Congress. The aim of the act is to create year-round activities at the ski areas in national forests.
