Columbian embassy is all prepared to pitch for its ambassador to make him the new leader of world tourism. Jaime Alberto Cabal, will be competing with 6 more candidates for the same position and become the head of the United Nations World Tourism Organization.
Professional expertise of Jaime Alberto Cabal is related to design and execution of public policies for the growth and development of strategic sectors and the socio-economic and sustainable development in industrial and tourism sectors.
He was also the member the Executive Boards of the Tourism Promotion Entity of Colombia, PROCOLOMBIA, and the Colombian Tourism Promotion Fund, FONTUR. On the other hand, Jaime Alberto Cabal was the President of the Hotel and Tourism Association of Colombia, COTELCO, the Colombia Chamber of Tourism and the Ibero-American Hotel Association, and a member of the board for the World Hotel Organization and Vice-president of Affiliate Members of the UNWTO.
The main Columbian purpose is to rebuild and transform UNWTO. Increasing its utility to the member countries of the organizations by understanding the capacity and current requirement of world tourism is what Jaime Alberto Cabal aims at. Harmonizing its principles along with sustainable development goals or SDG is yet another factor that the Columbian ambassador wants to focus on.
