The hotel is ready to receive new features including a day spa, pool and luxury apartments to the heritage-listed landmark.
Stellar that is one of the development companies of this region had entered into a joint venture with Julian Verner, a hotelier who had purchased this property in the year 2015 with an aim to renew the iconic Mornington Pensinsula site.
It is now ready to undergo a complete restoration, renovation and refurbishment with a goal to preserve the iconic site as a hotel and pub as per this developer.
Once it is completed it would be featuring a bistro, public bar and restaurant, two function rooms, 38 hotel rooms and a café, apart from a ‘private dining and champagne bar’. A soft launch is also planned for summer 2018 to 2019.
Nicholas Smedley who is the managing director of Stellar mentioned that this work would be improving the heritage site and also offer a landmark tourist destination for Mornington Peninsula.
He said that Sorrento has grown significantly over the last decade and continues to evolve with year-round population and tourism.
The Continental Hotel has already been enlisted as of immense architectural importance to Victoria according to the Victorian Heritage Database.
