South East European region can definitely be an Ace up the meeting planner’s sleeve. The breathtaking nature, incredible history, great and diverse meeting and conference facilities, good service and friendly people are just some of the characteristics that meeting planners could use to describe the region to their clients. Patrick Delaney, Managing Directior at Ovation Global DMC said: “As a professional meeting planner I’m being continuously asked for something different, value-centered, no boring meetings with supplier-partners who are flexible and who want to do business. I firmly believe that South East Europe can provide answers to many of these needs. Go there and check it out. I know you will be more than satisfied!”
Compared to past shows, hosted buyers attending the 6th edition of Conventa will spend an extra night in the host city of Ljubljana and thus have the opportunity to familiarise themselves better with the destination and providers of meeting industry services from South East European region. Their Conventa journey will start and finish with fam trips. They will have the possibility to personally check the meetings offer of Ljubljana, Bled, Zagreb, Carinthia and the region of Friuli Venezia Giulia.
Meeting planners attending Conventa will return to their offices with a better understanding of the SEE potential to host meetings, events, congresses and incentives. Conventa’s goal will be accomplished when meeting planners will present the region to their clients and persuade them to organize their next event in SEE. The fact that region will soon be richer for new flight connections will definitely make a difference. At the end of October a new Serbian national carrier, Air Serbia, will add 12 direct flight connections to a good list of flights to and from Serbia. National airline of Slovenia, Adria Airways, also plans new connections for 2014 and the near future. There will be no excuses left. SEE will soon be only a stone’s throw away.
