WeChat is also known as Weixin in China is an integrated lifestyle-changing platform that allows instant messaging, commerce and payment services from Tencent Holdings which is a leading provider of internet value added services.
It was recorded in the second quarter of 2017 that over 963 million users were active on the app.
Costa Cruises launched the first Mini Program to book and pay for cruise itinerary on the WeChat platform on August 8th.
The Mini Program allows the WeChat users to instantly open and access services inside WeChat without having to download the full standalone mobile app. Among other functions WeChat Mini Program will include on-board entertainment booking and payment.
The WeChat mini Program will help the guests in browsing, booking specialty restaurants, spa, duty-free shopping and other on-board services is complimentary intranet services without having to subscribe to the on-board internet services.
