Couples can save up to US$2117 and solo travellers US$3271 by combining a river cruise and coastal voyage in Burma with Pandaw Expeditions.
The back-to-back cruise offer through Active Travel – Australia’s leading agent for Pandaw – is valid on 12 paired departures between October, 2016, and March, 2017.
Under the deal, Australians who book a 10-night cruise through Burma’s seldom-visited coastal islands aboard Pandaw’s 18-passenger motor yacht, Andaman Explorer, will get a 50 per cent discount on one of Pandaw’s seven-night river journeys on the Irrawaddy through the heart of mysterious Burma.
The river cruise aboard one of Pandaw’s colonial-styled vessels will take guests on an exotic journey between the cities of Mandalay and Pagan, with passengers visiting gilded temples and pagodas and bustling market towns and riding in tuk tuks on excursions ashore across the legend-steeped, emerald-green landscape.
Before or after the Irrawaddy cruise, travellers taking advantage of the back-to-back offer will also board Pandaw’s boutique, jacuzzi-topped motor yacht, Andaman Explorer, for a 10-night cruise between Ranong-Kawthaung on the Burmese-Thai border and Rangoon. The route takes guests to the pristine and rarely frequented islands of Burma’s Mergui Archipelago, including the Aladdin, Sular and Sullivan Islands, with stops also at the towns of Tavoy, Mergui and Moulmein.
Both cruises include meals, guided excursions ashore and local beer, spirits and soft drinks as well as crew gratuities.
No single supplements are offered on eight of the 12 paired departures between October, 2016, and March, 2017. Using the 50 per cent discount on the Irrawaddy cruise if the river and coastal journeys are booked back-to-back, the combined 17-night experience in Burma is available from US$4762 per person, twin-share (a saving of up to US$2117 per couple, depending on the sailing date) and the same for solo travellers who save up to US$3271, depending on the departure date.
