Recently, Tourism Minister Gari Capelli while attending a joint meeting with Patricia Yates, director of strategy and communications of Visit Britain said that advertising underground and enhancing only regions by neglecting Croatia as a whole are few mistakes that would not be entertained anymore.
The minister further highlighted that hereafter more aggressive ways are to be incorporated to reform the tourism industry of Croatia. Tourism is one of the main export industries in the UK creating 9 percent of the GDP. Besides, 9.6 percent of the employees are associated with tourism industry as mentioned by Yates.
To quote Yates, ‘Visit Britain is implementing activities related to the promotion of the tourist product of Great Britain on the international and domestic market, with a special focus on digital content, the growth of investment in promotion in foreign markets, and the strengthening of business travel and meetings, which represents a new priority.’
Each GBP that the British Government invested in promoting caused growth in consumption of overseas tourists by 23 GBP, as per 2015/2016 statistics.
