The Croatian tourism annual turnover was more than €10 billion last year, as confirmed by the ministry creating a record in the history of Croatia. For bulk transaction, overseas tourists were immensely responsible as they contributed more than €8.64 billion to the total turnover. This total was an increase of 8.5%, in comparison to 2015 as confirmed by the datas presented by the Croatian National Bank show.
15.6 million tourists visited Croatia in 2016 which was almost 8.7% more than the previous year. However, 88% or 13.8 million out of them came from foreign countries. Germany had 2.28 million or 16.5% of all foreign guests. Followed by Slovenia which occupied second spot with 1.3 million and 9.4% respectively of all the visitors. The total GDP of Croatian Tourism amounted to 18.9% in the last few years. To quote Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli, ‘The previous year’s results show that the Croatian economy is developing in the right direction.’
