Croatian Tourism Minister Gari Cappelli yesterday held a reception with ambassadors accredited to the Republic of Croatia for presenting the current projects in Croatian tourism. He thanked the ambassadors for promoting Croatia in their home countries and stressed the importance of tourism for growth of the Croatian economy. The reception was graced by around 50 ambassadors, consuls and other diplomatic personnel of embassies accredited to the Republic of Croatia.
Minister Cappelli spoke about the importance of tourism in Croatia along with its importance in other countries of the world. According to the WTO, tourism makes up for about 10% of the world GDP and the revenue achieved from tourism is around 1.1 billion Euros. By 2030, it is estimated that the present 1.2 billion arrivals of foreign tourists will increase to 1.8 billion arrivals. At the end of the reception, Minister Cappelli urged the ambassadors to visit continental Croatia and said that in current context, Croatia is one of the safest countries of the world.
