The cruise ship was named The Coventina.
It is believed that The Coventina bumped against a bigger vessel. Consequently, it was left with a broken window and causing its passengers, that almost amounted to 30, to disembark from the cruise boat.
River Escapes owns the small cruise boat, and it is a family company whose program of daily cruises has almost approached its end.
The accident occurred while The Coventina was travelling to Countryside from the Quay around 12.30 p.m.
During that point of time, the area close to the Quayside market was quite busy as the visitors were eager to take advantage of the dry weather. Michael Rowlands, a crew member of the River Escapes who was not on board the small cruise boat during the time of the accident said that the crew members were forced to cancel the trip soon after it met with the accident.
He added that this was because the cruise passengers could not be left exposed to the smashed window pieces.
He also said that a majority of the tourists has been offered a complete refund for their trips. Next, he went on to add that the cruise boat authorities would invite the passengers to re-book their trips after the window was fixed by them. He then said that this is the very first time an accident of this sort has taken place.
The crew member said that the window was damaged to some extent after the accident.
