After the deadly terror attack in Nice which killed 84 people and injuring many more on Bastille Day, all the famous cruise liners featuring the French Riviera city along the Cote d’Azur are modifying their plans.
Two cruise lines have been reported to have cancelled calls in Nice in the wake of the terror attack.
Corporately, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is halting shore excursions in Nice and upping its security protocols in French ports.
Many international cruises like the Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Constellation was reported to have spending the day at sea, instead of visiting Nice.
Several other cruise lines that call at nearby ports in Cannes and Monaco were going ahead with stops but dropping shore excursions to Nice including Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings-owned Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Oceania Cruises.
The Norwegian Cruise Lines Holdings said on Friday that, the safety and security of the passenger and staff is paramount so they have suspended all the plans to Nice. They have also enhanced security measures for all ships operating in French ports.
P&O Cruises cancelled trips to Nice from the ship Ventura on a call to Cannes on Friday.
MSC Cruises added that, they are providing their passengers either with an option of cancellation with a full refund or change their shore excursion plans.
