The second quarter of this year witnessed a double digit growth in terms of tourism in comparison to last year with huge pressure coming from cruise ship arrivals. If we take a look at the months of April, May and June of this year, Grand Turk witnessed more than 53,000 visitors. However, overnight figures dropped slightly by 3,215 respectively.
To note, this week the TCI Tourist Board released the statistics and the air arrivals decreased by 2% in June. In comparison to last year where the drop was 9%, this year showed upward trend. As per the report, the top 10 markets for the Turks and Caicos were Canada, Italy, France, Germany, the UK, other European countries, Brazil, the Caribbean and USA, still at the leading spot being the main source tourism market.
