The two-day Chinese Culture Festival at the Expocuba exhibition center, is being held to pay tribute to Cuban painter Flora Fong and to honor the 168th anniversary of the arrival of Chinese people in the island.
The Dance of the Lion, by the Cuban School of Wushu, marked the beginning of the festival, which was held in this country for 15 years, attended by the Chinese ambassador to Havana.
During the first day, photography exhibitions as “Graphic Work by Flora Fong; the memory of a Republic” and “50 Years of Cuba-China Relations” were opened.
The audience were able to enjoy the bamboo, bonsay samples and paintings embroidered with Chinese silk at the House of Asia, in the area of Old Havana.
As part of the proposals, books by Chinese writers and published by the Cuban publishing house Arte y Literatura, as “My Husband Puyi,” “The Last Emperor of China,” “Chinese Contemporary Fiction Selection” and “Mobile Telephone” were presented.
