Lately, Reinaldo Daniel Alonso, the director of Development, Investment and Business, informed the reporters that few 140 new projects could be incorporated in a revised government investment portfolio that it prepares to disclose at Havana International Fair which will take place in November 2017.
At the same time, structuring new amusement parks and golf courses, increasing the island’s hotel capacity remains the key focus. The Tourism Development Plan of the government focuses to add to the country’s total number of hotel rooms from 67,000 to 103,000 respectively.
In Cuba, tourism arrival has increased subsequent to the reinstatement of ties with the United States under former President Barack Obama. In 2016, there were 14.5% more international visitors in comparison to 2015. However, this year, Cuban officials expect to greet some 4.2 million visitors.
