Cuba expands services in medical tourism

Cuba expends services in medical tourismCuba, a highly sought after destination in medical tourism has announced plans to expand services in many areas of health tourism.


The expansion will not only be in terms of space but also attention will be given on capacity building said Director of the Cira Garcia health centre, Joaquin Garcia, a leading health centre in Cuba.


The centre was established in the 1980s to offer health services to the diplomatic corps accredited in Havana. In the 1990s the facility began to assist not only foreign residents here, but also those who came for medical attention in Cuba.


The Cuban people can opt for free medical treatments however foreigners will be charges for the services offered. A very popular health care centre known for its medical tourism facilities the unit specializes in surgical and clinical specialties. It gynecological and pediatric wing has also earned a very good reputation.
