The 11th International Nature Tourism Event: TURNAT 2017 to be held from 26 to 30 September, will lead to tour operators, travel agents, tourists and students of nature come together to study and discuss issues concerning the Ecotourism and Adventure Tourism of North East of Cuba.
This region of Cuba, where the event will take place, includes the provinces of Holguin and Guantanamo, an area of significant natural value, landscape, biodiversity of flora and fauna and a remarkable endemism. Its physical geography includes high mountains, fertile plains and sandy beaches that alternate in a landscape of unique beauty.
One of the biggest attractions of the area is the Alejandro Humboldt National Park, declared as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2001. This extensive protected area, strict category, is significant for Cuba in relation to biodiversity, endemism and conservation of mountain ecosystems.
