For cultural & tourism integration, Chongqing awards 37 golden ideas!

Chongqing Municipality of West China has been awarded 37 “golden ideas” on June 22nd for boosting up integrated development of its culture and tourism as the local government disclosed winners for a contest looking for contributions worldwide. Two top prize winners were offered 100,000 yuan each as a reward. The event was arranged by Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development.


On January 16th, Chongqing introduced the global competition to collect ideas, plans, and suggestions to offer new insights for the high-class integrated development of the culture and tourism of the city. Also, the competition acted as an opportunity to endorse the urban image of Chongqing, its tourism, and cultural resources while attracting more tourists and market entities.


The golden idea contest had both Chinese and English submissions, emphasizing the global and professional nature of the competition. Since the competition started, a total of 693 valid works have been collected. Among the contributors, they came from common citizens and tourists worldwide, as well as scholars and experts from various universities and institutions. Also, participants from the United States, Australia, Singapore, Poland were there and other countries and regions. There are cultural tourism research institutes, cultural tourism planning organizations, senior experts and industrial KOLs, as well as cultural tourism experts from Australia, Taiwan and other countries and regions were among the winners.


The prized “golden ideas” target on the integrated development of culture and tourism and the linkage of industries. They center on five tourism brands of Chongqing – Three Gorges, the Mountainous City, the Local Culture, the Hot Springs and the Countryside, fully highlighting the cultural, historical and regional characteristics of the city. These views and suggestions are of superlative, fresh and feasible, which are most probably to simplify a new round of upgrading of Chongqing’s cultural tourism industry. The innovative beam of these golden ideas will light up the future of Chongqing’s cultural tourism industry.
