Customers urged to plan ahead and avoid ticket queues

Sydney TrainsSydney Trains is encouraging customers who buy weekly and fortnightly tickets to switch to purchasing tickets outside the Monday and Tuesday morning peaks to reduce their chances of having to queue.

Sydney Trains Director, Customer Service Liz Ward said that North Sydney customers can save time by buying their tickets out of the morning peaks at the beginning of the week and will not be out of pocket if they make their purchase after 3pm.

“Rather than joining the ticket line on a Monday or Tuesday morning, we’re asking customers to avoid the queues by picking up their weekly or fortnightly ticket outside of those busy times: maybe on a Wednesday, at lunchtime or even on the way home,” she said.

“Customer Service staff will be handing out information at St Leonards and Artarmon stations this Monday and Tuesday morning to encourage customers to buy their weekly and fortnightly tickets later in the week.

“By purchasing your ticket after 3pm on any day of the week you can use it straight away and still have your full week or fortnight from the next day.”

North Sydney customers travelling to the city, Chatswood or on the Eastern Suburbs Line can already avoid queues using their Opal card.
