Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) announced that Sim Kian Peng has been appointed General Manager, Southeast Asia, effective immediately.Based in Singapore, Sim will be a member of CWT’s Asia Pacific leadership team and will report to Kai Chan, CWT’s President for Asia Pacific.
In his role, Sim will be responsible for the growth and continued strategic alignment of CWT’s business in Southeast Asia. CWT’s country leaders in Indonesia and Thailand will report directly to Sim.
Sim joins CWT from the Panalpina Group, a global provider of supply chain solutions, where he was Senior Vice President and Regional Head of Industry Vertical Technology, Asia Pacific. He brings a wealth of experience and an excellent track record in strategic sales and operations management, having spent 10 years in the airline sector with Singapore Airlines and Silkair, and 15 years in the logistics and freight sectors with Panalpina, Danzas and DHL. Sim was also an active member of the Board of Airline Representatives and Airline Operators Committee in various countries.

On his new role, Sim said, “I’m excited and honored to take on this role. I believe we have tremendous opportunities for growth ahead and I look forward to expanding CWT’s business in Southeast Asia.”Sim is a business graduate from the University of Texas at Austin, and he also has a Gemologist Diploma from the Gemological institute of America (GIA).
