Pastry Chef Hom Bahadur Khadka of Danat Al Ain Resort bagged the bronze medal award under Class 3 Four Plates of Dessert Category at the recently concluded Gulfood 2016: Emirates Culinary Guild Salon Culinaire competition.
Chef Khadka’s winning entries included Pistachio Ice Cream, Vegetarian Dessert, Chocolate Lava Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Piñacolada. This is his fourth time to participate under the category. Chef Khadka has been with Danat Al Ain Resort for one year.
Under Class 3 Four Dessert Category, the participating chef needs to prepare four different desserts, each for one person. At least one of the desserts must contain Toni Kaiser strudel dough as a main component which is supplied to entrants. The presentation will also include one hot dessert and judges will taste the dessert to determine its quality and authenticity.
