In Monday’s episode, a train loses power on the East Coast Main Line which causes widespread disruption. Jerry, who is a route control manager, is tasked with working out the best way to stop the disruption and to fix the problem.
He said: “I’ve worked in the rail industry for 27 years and have loved every minute of it.
“In my role, every day is different and the situation can change from one moment to the next. We can deal with multiple incidents at a time ranging from signalling problems, broken down trains and extreme weather. The variety is what makes my job so enjoyable; you never know what to expect.
“I’m very keen for everyone to see the show and witness all the hard work and planning which goes into getting trains from A to B, as well as how we solve problems when things don’t go to plan. Most people don’t see what goes on behind the scenes, so it’s great to share that with the public.
“I’m looking forward to seeing the show and I know my friends and family are too, as well as others who work in the industry and rely on our decision making.”
