Delta Airlines has introduced a new business class product, which will enhance the privacy of the premium fliers on its long haul flights. Called the Delta One suite, the product features ultra wide business class seats with sliding doors and private dividers to create a personal and premium experience. It is set to debut in 2017.
Other features of the new product include full flat-bed seats, in-flight entertainment systems with 18-inch, high-definition screens, universal power outlets, USB ports, storage compartments for shoes, headphones and laptops, and mood lighting.
Passengers will also receive special meal and wine pairings, bedding designed by Starwood’s Westin brand, noise-cancelling headphones and designer amenity kits.
Tim Mapes, Delta’s senior vice president & chief marketing officer, said that, after setting the standard with the introduction of full flat-bed seats with direct aisle access in 2008, Delta is again elevating the international business class experience. He also added that, added comfort and privacy are important to business travellers, and that drove the design of the all-new Delta One suite.
The special suite will initially be introduced on Delta’s first Airbus A350. Each aircraft will feature 32 suites. The product will then be progressively rolled out across Delta’s Boeing 777 fleet.
