A flight of Delta Airlines that was travelling from Kennedy Airport was compelled to go for an emergency landing pit stop in the region of Montana so as to make passengers enjoy a much-required bathroom break as confirmed by the officials.
Malfunctioning bathrooms on the Boeing 757 had caused a real emergency on Saturday and this forced the plane to land at Billings Logan International Airport more than halfway through the six-hour flight to Seattle.
One of the regional news media agencies stated that all the toilets on board the aircraft were full and passengers needed to go the bathrooms ‘really bad’.
Once the plane landed, there was yet to be any relief for the passengers since the landing was unscheduled and no gates were available for the landing. Thereafter the authorities had to tow the plane to cargo area to unload many passengers who needed to find a lavatory urgently.
The ground crews had to bring a rolling stairway to the airplane so that passengers could rush to the closest restroom and ‘find relief of built-up pressures’, as specified by the report.
Passengers were permitted to get back on the plane and continue their way after the toilets were fixed and the plane was refueled as per Kevin Phoehn who is the Billings director of aviation and transit.
