deltalogo_11431228Delta showed its global support for the LGBT community through its main sponsorship of the GNETWORK360’s International Conference on LGBT Business and Tourism in Argentina for the eighth consecutive year. The GNETWORK360 (G360) conference, which marks its 10th anniversary this year, was held Aug. 15-18 in Buenos Aires.

“Delta is proud to be the main sponsor of a reference point conference for the LGBT travel and tourism sector in Latin America,” said Rodrigo Bertola, Delta’s Director— Hispanic South America, Central America and Caribbean. “Delta’s sponsorship helps to further networking for more than 1,500 travel industry leaders from 18 countries.”

The conference’s opening ceremony, presided over by Minister of Tourism Gustavo Santos, took place in the Argentine Congressional Senate’s Blue Room. Additionally, G360 held a “solidarity dinner” to raise money for the local children’s hospital and recognized the companies and individuals who have best served the LGBT community in the past year. Delta was honored with the “2017 Outstanding Achievement Award for Commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.”

“As a global airline, Delta seeks to embody the diversity we see around the world to create an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere,” said Luciano Macagno, Managing Director – Latin America and the Caribbean. “Our customers and employees represent every ethnicity, religion, background and lifestyle, and reflecting this reality is integral to Delta’s culture and to the way we conduct business.”

Delta highlighted its travel offerings for the LGBT community at two presentations:

“Diversity flies with Delta” and “The Delta Difference” by Roberto Girotti, Executive Consultant for Delta – Latin America and Caribbean.

Delta’s global commitment to the LGBT community is highlighted under the slogan “Give love wings and let it fly.” The airline celebrated Pride Month this June by supporting 16 LGBT Pride festivals in cities across the U.S. and Canada, including Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, New York City, Toronto and Salt Lake City, with employees, friends and family volunteers participating in the festivities.

For the first time, Delta was also the Official Airline and sponsor of the Boston Pride Festival, and the airline continued its sponsorship of Atlanta Pride, NYC Heritage of Pride, Seattle PrideFest and Pride in London this year. Through these and its GNETWORK360 sponsorship, Delta which was recognized last year as the most LGBT-friendly airline in Latin America, continues to demonstrate its support for the LGBT community.
