Conventions and Incentives New Zealand (CINZ), in New Zealand had partnered with ShowGizmo for a free breakfast event in Wellington. This event was also aimed at celebrating the impact women have in the events industry. The speakers included the co-founder and president of the Association for Women in Events (AWE), Carrie Abernathy, Marie-Claire Andrews, the director AWE and CEO ShowGizmo, Rachel Bartlett, the European president of IAC, Lotta Bowman, Sue Sullivan and Sigtunahojden in Sweden.
In New York, four iconic buildings had spent the evening lit up beautifully in blue in honor of this special event.
One Bryant Park, Four Times Square, One World Trade Center and the Empire State Building are some of the buildings that created a unique blue skyline that stretched from Lower Manhattan through Midtown. NYC & Company, the destination marketing organization of the city had hosted a special NYC Talks: Improving Security, Ensuring Success panel.
The Global Meetings Industry Day 2017 was celebrated in Miami at the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB).
The inaugural flight from Reykjavik, Iceland was welcomed by WOW air and it marked the twenty-third European city with non-stop, direct flight service from Miami.
This low-cost airline would fly from Miami to Reykjavik three days a week with connecting flights to major European cities like Paris, Copenhagen, Berlin and London.
