On Aburi Hills, over 800 tourists visit on the weekends. Majority of them participate in health and fit walk, to organize rally to boost domestic tourism and to endorse the patronage ‘made in Ghana good’.
Ghana Tourism Authority in association with Airport View Hotel hosted the Health and Fit Walk. It was part of the ‘See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana’ campaign introduced by Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts and the GTA to endorse local tourism and products.
Many fashion designers, small and medium enterprises and artisans participated in the event. Aburi Hills can be an outstanding source to attract visitors and this should be promoted, explained by Ms. Felicia Aniagyei, current public relations manager of GTA.
She further added by saying that its beneficial for the event to take place there as many participants visited that region for the first time. To quote her, ‘the GTA recognizes this place as having the potential to develop domestic tourism, as we are resolute to promote it for Ghana’s development.’
The attendance as explained by Ms Aniagyei shows that Ghanaians totally supported ‘See Ghana, Eat Ghana, Wear Ghana, Feel Ghana’ campaign. It tries to highlight the rich tourist attraction in the country by mentioning Aburi Hills as one of the finest places in the world.
