JW Marriott HotelsForbes Travel Guide today unveiled its annual Star Rating list, naming Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve as a new Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star recommended hotel and the only Forbes Five-Star resort in all of Puerto Rico. Dorado Beach will be showcased alongside all of the Star Rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com.

Located just steps from the sparkling Atlantic Ocean and surrounded by acres of lush, tropical forest, Dorado Beach ushers in a new level of luxury travel experiences for travelers in Puerto Rico. As the second Ritz-Carlton Reserve in the world and the first in the Western Hemisphere, Dorado Beach offers a magnificent, secluded location, intimate accommodations, and attentive yet discreet guest services. As exemplified by Dorado Beach, the Ritz-Carlton Reserve brand is distinguished for its prestigious properties located in some of the most exquisite corners of the world.

“Receiving recognition as a Forbes Five-Star resort is one of the hospitality industry’s highest accolades,” said George Sotelo, General Manager of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve. “Our passionate team is beyond delighted to have earned this remarkable distinction.”

Situated on 1,400 acres of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is an intimate refuge offering a true sense of barefoot elegance. Created as an open-air enclave, the resort boasts numerous culinary experiences including Mi Casa by José Andrés, which offers fine dining through an amalgamation of traditional Spanish and American cuisines. Guests can also unwind at the award-winning Spa Botánico, a five acre spa sanctuary built on a pineapple field that blends Puerto Rican ingredients and soothing indigenous traditions to impart a holistic sense of well-being.

Dorado Beach is the latest addition to the luxury travel ratings that have been the gold standard in the hospitality industry since their start in 1958.

“Our Star Ratings recognize the finest hotels, restaurants and spas in the world. These ratings serve as the most authoritative guideposts for guests seeking exceptional travel experiences. Our primary mission is to contribute to excellence in hospitality, serving the global tourism industry as well as the guest,” said Gerard J. Inzerillo, Chief Executive Officer of Forbes Travel Guide. “We’re proud to be associated with the new additions to our global list.”
