This aircraft was compelled to make a detour to the city of Guadalajara located in the western state of the same name after this drunk man reportedly started attacking crew members. The name of the man is yet to be released by the authorities.
AeroMexico flight AM664 was carrying 144 passengers.
It had been delayed by nearly an hour on Sunday night following the incident. Reportedly the incident was sparked when the man who was believed to be drunk started screaming for unknown reasons while the flight was mid-air and even attacked the crew members.
Then, he allegedly lashed out at other passengers and crew members when they made efforts to interfere.
Some of the shocked onlookers captured footage of the moments and during this time, four security guards tried to restrain the drunk man. The footage shows the man growling furiously and someone shouting in the background “He is biting.” One of the passengers named Laura Aceves mentioned that about half an hour into the flight, the cabin crew started pacing up and down the aisles after a passenger became ‘disruptive’.
She added that the plane took 40 minutes to kick the man off the plane.
It is not known if the drunk man would be facing any charges.
