The forum was built to offer support in hotel recruitment and training specialists. It was kind of a platform to receive better understanding of the labour laws of the UAE and to look after different work related challenges of different industry.
Government as well as private sector executives and speakers were present at the event organized at The Address – Boulevard Hotel. Besides, human resources professionals highlighted on topics like Emiratisation, present labour laws of the land, and staff recruitment policies. Participants had the opportunity to raise questions at the time of the Q & A session that followed every presentation.
Some of the well-known speakers were Emaar Hospitality Group CEO Olivier R. Harnisch, Security Industry Regulatory Agency (SIRA), a unit of Dubai Police, licensing department head Major Majid AlZarouni and Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation assistant legal researcher Ahmed Mohamed Alhosany, who discussed on the present day scenario of the labour laws and also answered to questions on aspects like overtime work, sharing of staff under a single visa and working on Fridays etc.
He also declared that a WhatsApp Arabic-language hotline has been introduced by the Ministry to serve the various queries in terms of labour rules and regulations. Jeff Strachan, DCT business development sector, gave a general idea on DCT along with its forthcoming future as well as current programmes like different interactive training course like ‘Dubai Way’.
