In order to attract young UAE nationals to become part of Dubai’s fast growing tourism industry, the Dubai College of Tourism is all focused to launch its ‘‘Industry Nationalization initiative’’ which is also known as Emiratisation initiative. The recruitment, training and industry on-boarding programs of this initiative are geared toward increasing Emiratis by 2020.
The Industry Nationalization initiative is targeting different groups where different high school graduates, university students and job hunters of the UAE. Besides increasing tourism awareness among the Emiratis, the initiation also provides strong career opportunities in various sectors. The program will help to develop different key skills and aptitudes among young UAE nationals and place them in different tourist-facing job positions. To make the tourism even more strong, the initiation plans to offer indigenous experience to the international tourists as well.
To quote His Excellency, Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), “We are committed to nurturing the next generation of UAE nationals, developing them into ambassadors for our city, who symbolize Dubai’s role as a connector of cultures. This latest endeavor by the Dubai College of Tourism enables us to not only coach those with potential but also create more opportunities for qualified Emirati nationals in the tourism industry. In line with Dubai Tourism’s Vision of attracting 20 million visitors by 2020, there is an even greater demand for talented Emirati youth, and we aim to use this initiative as a platform to build future leaders, adding to the sustainability and growth of our industry.”
